FAQS

Find Out What to Expect from Your Oahu Headshot Photography Session with Hawaii Headshot Photos Please allow us to share some insights so you know what to expect when working with us and how best to prepare for your Oahu headshot photography session.

We work with all kinds of Headshot, no discrimination here.

Of course, not everyone likes standing in front of a camera. Our job is to make you feel at ease to help capture the best you. Most of the time you won’t even know were are there allowing you to relax and allowing us to make the photos you deserve.

Get in touch with us below. If we’re the right fit, all you need is a signed contract and a 50% deposit to book the date. Get in touch for more details.

  • We have one parking stall available for our headshot clients. If your vehicle can manage a 6’6″ ceiling clearance we have a spot for you. For larger vehicles, there is free street parking all along our block of Kinau St.

  • Call us once you park so we can meet you downstairs and bring you up the elevator.

  • The studio will be all ready for you upon arrival. (Ohana style we ask that you remove shoes) We will have an area set up for you with a bathroom, sink, and mirrors so you can get ready and store personal items. Once you’re ready it’s lights, camera, action!

  • We will view photos during the shoot to ensure you’re happy with the results. If you’ve selected our standard headshot session you’ll be able to change outfits as needed. Once we’ve completed shooting you can choose your best images which will be sent to you via a digital download email before you leave. Payment is made at this time. You can make your retouch selection at this time or review the images at home and contact us later with your decision.

  • We recommend something you feel confident wearing that best represents you professionally.

  • For business headshots, long sleeves are usually best. (Aloha shirts are an exception) We want to keep the attention on your expression so solid neutral colors like black, gray, blue, green, brown always look great. Splashes of color and white look great underneath business jackets.

  • Jewelry – Keep it simple!  Choose small pieces that enhance not distract (unless part of your personal brand) Usually, we’ll see how it looks with and without and make the call from there. Ultimately, it’s up to you!

  • Whether you do your hair/makeup yourself or hire someone else to do it for you we recommend styling as you would normally before going to meet an ideal client. You don’t want to show up looking like anyone other than the person in your headshot!
  •  Get your new haircut or coloring done a week before your scheduled headshot session so you have a chance to get used to the new look beforehand.
  • Avoid the sun for a few days before your headshot session. This is so important in Hawaii! Sunburnt or peeling skin is difficult to cover with makeup and no fun to deal with in photoshop. We cannot guarantee you’ll be happy with your headshots if you show up lobster red! Better to reschedule in that case.
  • It’s important to get your skin looking healthy before the shoot. Hydrate yourself by drinking plenty of water the day before and try to come well-rested.
  • Avoid using oily products on the face before your session. Over-moisturizing the skin will create excess shine which becomes highly reflective under the lights.
  • Don’t worry about blemishes, they can be retouched. The same goes for aging skin, fine lines, age spots, and under-eye circles can be softened in post-production for your retouch selections.

  • All your selected images are delivered via e-mail with a digital download link before you leave your session. Your retouching selections will be delivered within a few business days from when you notify us of your choices. If interested, we can handle printing services for you upon request, for additional rates.
  • At the end of your session once you are satisfied with your images you can make payment. We accept credit cards, Venmo, check, or cash.
