A Great Option for Business or Actor Headshots on Oahu
As photographers, we’ve had the opportunity to shoot headshots in a variety of settings, from studios to outdoor locations. While we enjoy shooting in both environments, there’s something special about on-location headshots.
There are a few reasons why we love on-location headshots. It can help to create more authentic and engaging images when capturing someone in their natural environment. An on-location portrait will exhibit a distinct style. This style might better convey the look and feel of your personal or company brand. This could be outdoors in an urban or natural setting as well as in-office. Second, on-location shoots offer more creative possibilities. We can use the surrounding environment to create unique and interesting compositions. Finally, on-location shoots can be more fun for both the subject and the photographer. There’s something about being outside and exploring new places that makes for a more enjoyable experience.
Of course, there is one definite challenge associated with on-location headshots which is weather condition. It’s important to be flexible with dates when planning on-location headshots in case Mother Nature surprises us with rain or high winds. It’s always good to plan an alternative date in case you need to reschedule. The other factor to plan for is time of day. If you’d like to shoot outdoors the best times of day when natural lighting is optimum is in the early morning or evening. If this isn’t an option for you we have the equipment and know-how to work with bright lighting conditions but options will be more limited and then there’s the heat…. looking sweaty and overheated isn’t ideal.
Whether you choose to have your headshots done in-studio or on-location the focus is always on you over the background so there’s no wrong way about it. Both can be equally professional and appealing as long as they’re done with quality. From politicians & lawyers to actors/models you can see amazing examples of both in-studio and on-location headshots across all industries. It usually just comes down to personal taste and at Hawaii Headshot Photos we’re proud to offer quality options for both!
Here are a few things to consider when choosing a photographer for your on-location headshots:
- Experience: Make sure the photographer has experience taking on-location headshots. This will ensure that you get high-quality photos that are flattering and professional-looking.
- Style: Consider the style of headshots you want. Do you want traditional headshots or something more creative? The photographer should be able to accommodate your preferences.
- Price: On-location headshots can be more expensive than studio headshots, so be sure to factor in the cost when making your decision.
With a little planning and effort, you can take great on-location headshots that will help you market your business. Contact us with questions and for scheduling!
