Congratulations on your decision to invest in your professional persona! Your headshot is usually the first introduction your audience has to see and engage with you. In our experience, we have found that most of our clients are about as excited to have their headshots done as they are to visit the dentist! Which is why we’ve written this post about what to expect during your headshot session. We feel that, knowing what will take place during your time in-studio with us can alleviate some of the anxiety felt over sitting in front of a camera.
First of all we have a dedicated parking stall in our building garage that you can use during your headshot session – so no need to worry about looking for parking! If your vehicle is over the 6’6″ clearance there is almost always parking availability on our street within a 1 block radius.
Once you arrive to the studio we’ll discuss your necessary specifications or personal preferences for your professional headshots and the visual messages you’d like to communicate. Next, we’ll look through your wardrobe to help you choose the best styles and colors to suit you, your target audience, and what will work well on camera. When you’re ready, we’ll get you in front of the camera to take a few test shots to see how you photograph. We can then review the test photos on computer so you can see why we have you pose in certain ways, discuss your preferred angles, and make any needed changes to your hair & wardrobe.
Once back in front of the camera we’ll proceed to build your headshot portfolio. We’ll direct and guide you on exactly what to do and share with you the tips celebrities use to look fantastic on camera. With our experience & coaching we work hard to get you in the zone and bring out your personality on camera. We build each shot as we go along, by making tiny changes and adjustments until we feel we’ve got each look covered within your chosen shoot.
At this point, we’ll sit down with you to view the images and you can select your favorite images immediately. We’ll email your shortlisted images, in a personal online gallery, so you can choose your final selection. This link will be emailed to you within 24 hours of your shoot. Retouching for select images included with your session will be completed within 3 business days of notifying us on your final selection/s.
