Our ERAS headshot session is straightforward and unhurried. You’ll work with a photographer who will guide you through posing and expression, so you don’t need any modeling experience.
How to Prepare for Your ERAS Headshot Session
You don’t need to overthink this – a few simple tips:
- Choose solid, well-fitting clothing. Navy, charcoal, and black tend to photograph well. Formal business attire is the norm, and a jacket or blazer is a good idea.
- Skip busy patterns & logos and keep jewelry minimal. Simple is easier on the eye and won’t be a distraction.
- Make sure hair is well-groomed. For men – When was your last haircut? Get a trim the week before and use styling products if needed to keep your look clean & professional. If you have facial hair, make sure to trip up the edges or do a fresh shave the day of your session. For ladies – style your hair as you would when going to a job interview. If your hair is unruly – pull it back or consider getting a blowout before your session. Keep makeup light and professional – keep the glamour looks for the nightlife.
- Try on your outfit before coming in to make sure it fits well and looks good. Feel free to send us pics ahead of time or bring a couple of options with you, if you’d like help deciding what looks best.
- Get a good night’s sleep and drink plenty of water. It really does show!
Student Pricing
We know applying to residency programs comes with real costs, from application fees to travel for interviews. That’s why we offer a special rate for current medical students and residency applicants. Please bring a valid student ID or your school email address to your session so we can confirm eligibility. Our student price is $225 for a 1-look session that includes keeping all your images from the session and retouching for 1 photo of your choice. We’ll send your high-resolution polished image with an internet option sized to ERAS submission specifications as well as one for Linkedin.
